Each year, the CGNA supports a neighborhood wide garage sale during the 1st weekend in June. Participation is free to CGNA members and $5 to non-members. The CGNA places ads in the Times Union (print & online), Craigslist, and multiple social media pages. Signs are displayed at each entrance the week of the sale
Each year, the CGNA puts together a fun family event to celebrate Halloween. The Vischer Ferry Fire Department makes its way down a predetermined path through the neighborhood. Residents can join the parade at any point which will lead to the park. Families can dress up in their favorite costumes, decorate bikes to ride, whatever your choice! Once everyone arrives in the park, residents can hang out and have some treats while the children are given goody bags to add to the fun. The parade event is the Sunday prior to Halloween at 1pm.
The CGNA coordinates meet ups during the summer with any families with children entering Kindergarten that fall. We look for a new chair each year (typically a parent with a new kindergartner) to schedule play dates with other families of new kindergartners who have expressed interest. This is a great way for kindergartners to meet some new friends and reduce jitters prior to that first day of school!
Each year the CGNA plans a summer activity as a way for residents to get to meet each other. Movie nights, area performers, carnivals, kick ball... Watch for event announcements for the next big bash!
The CGNA is always trying to come up with ways to get our community together! Spring egg hunts, kick ball games in the park, sledding... Keep your eyes open for activities added to the events page through the year. These pop up events are also posted to the FB page and mass emailed via the Google group.
